European Union to attain Kyoto objectives - A major asset for its credibility in Copenhagen, Commissioner Dimas says

Brussels, 12/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Union is well on track to achieving the binding target assigned to it under the Kyoto Protocol, that of collectively reducing its emissions by 8% compared to 1990 between 2008 and 2012 as far as the EU15 is concerned.

This was revealed in the latest report on the EU's progress towards achieving the Kyoto objectives in 2007, established by the European Commission on the basis of the latest member state forecasts. Publication of the report,...
