27/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Carl Bildt, who chaired the External Relations Council in Luxembourg on Tuesday 27 October, drew somewhat bitter conclusions from the debate held by ministers on the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina after talks initiated by the EU and United States with the leaders of the country's three communities stalled last week in Sarajevo (EUROPE 10002). “It is up to the leaders of Bosnia to get down and talk and agree (Ed.: on constitutional, political and economic reforms essential to prepare Bosnia for future EU membership). It is not up to us, it's up to them. We are ready to help them but we can never do it without them. It's their country, not ours”, Mr Bildt commented to the press. (H.B./transl.jl)
