27/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 26 October, the Council of Ministers of the member states of the European Union adopted, without debate, a decision establishing the Community's position for the next annual meeting of the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) in London on 9-13 November. The measures adopted by the EU refer particularly to catch limits on certain species, protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems, tightening monitoring, control and surveillance measures, increased efforts to tackle illegal fishing, additional technical measures and continued modernisation of the NEAFC.
