27/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 27 October, the Austrian government designated its science and research minister, Johannes Hahn (ÖVP, Conservative) as the next commissioner of Austrian nationality in the Barroso II Commission. Vienna is hoping Mr Hahn will receive the portfolio on research. (H.B./transl.jl)
