10/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Adopting a resolution on Indonesia last Thursday, the EP called on the Indonesian government and the GAM independence movement to re-enter negotiations in order to implement the agreement to end hostilities. The EP also called on the Malaysian government to ensure Malaysia is not used as a guerrilla training base. The EP called on the Indonesian government to repeal the law dividing Papua into three new provinces since this challenges the law granting Papua special autonomy along with the EU's pledges concerning its status.
