Full 2004 schedule

Brussels, 10/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Following the most recent decisions by the Conference of Presidents and the vote in plenary last week in Strasbourg, the schedule of meetings of the European Parliament in 2004 has now been completed.

January: Plenary sessions 12-15 in Strasbourg and 28/29 in Brussels.

February: Plenary sessions 9-12 in Strasbourg and 25/26 in Brussels.

March: Plenary sessions 8-11 in Strasbourg and 29 March to 1 April in Brussels.

April: Plenary session of 19-22 in Strasbourg. The hearing of the ten new European Commissioners will be held in the last week of April (26-30).

May: Strasbourg plenary of 3-6 will be last session in current term of office. Due the European elections, there will not be any plenaries for two months.

June: European elections from 10 to 13.

July: After the meetings of the political groups (5-8, 12-13 and 19), the new parliament will start on Tuesday 20 July with a launch session in Strasbourg (ending part way through the day on Friday 23). Committee launch meetings will take place the following week (26-29).

September: Plenary sessions of 13-16 in Strasbourg and 29/30 in Brussels.

October: The hearings of the Commissioners designated for the new Commission will take place in the first two weeks (4-7 and 11-14). The plenary will be held on 25-28 October.

November: Plenary session of 15-18 in Strasbourg.

December: Plenary sessions of 1/2 in Brussels and 13-16 in Strasbourg.
