CLIMATE: ETS system - European Commission proposes ceasing invalidation of allowances in market stability reserve
The EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), which has been in the spotlight since the European Industry Summit in Antwerp last February, is only just beginning its gradual transformation to appease critics of carbon pricing (see EUROPE B13807A2).

Some industrialists claim that the current architecture of the ETS adds pressure on the energy bills of emitting companies, which are now being severely tested by the war in the Middle East.
