06/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 6 October 2009, the Commission authorised an extension until 31 December 2009 of an Italian recapitalisation scheme for credit institutions. This state aid scheme was endorsed on 23 December 2008. The Commission says the extension respects the relevant criteria as the measures are an appropriate way of remedying serious problems in the Italian economy. (C.D./transl.fl)
