Brussels, 30/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - Speaking through Karel De Gucht, European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, the European Commission on Wednesday 30 September expressed its solidarity with the people of the Pacific Islands, where on Tuesday a tsunami hit the Samoan Archipelago. The commissioner expressed Europe's willingness to provide humanitarian assistance if necessary.
