21/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 21 September, the members of the Presidency of the EPP group at the European Parliament, which is led by the French MEP Joseph Daul, embarked on a three-day trip to the United States. In Washington, they will hold a series of meetings with members of the American Congress, members of the Obama administration and representatives of business. The economic crisis, preparations for the G20 Summit and the United Nations conference on climate change to be held in Copenhagen in December will be at the heart of talks. "Fighting climate change is the duty of our generation. It is also the surest way of returning to sustainable growth conditions", said Mr Daul in a press release. The economic crisis can only be resolved by a "coordinated effort on both sides of the Atlantic, in coordination with all of the partners of the G20", added the leader of the EPP group.
