15/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - Speaking to press on Tuesday 15 September, GUE/NGL Group leader Lothar Bisky suggested that his group could not agree with candidate José Manuel Barroso on a number of points of the European social policy. He called for concrete social measures and an end to letting market forces decide. “We won't vote for him,” Bisky said. When asked about the unity within his group, he said that he did not believe that there would be even one abstention. (O.J./transl.rt)
