2nd annual EGF report says 69% of those helped have found new jobs

Brussels, 31/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 31 July, the European Commission adopted its second annual report on the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF). The report reveals an increasing uptake of the funds by EU member states for measures to support workers dismissed as a result of globalisation. It shows, too, that, in 2007, the fund helped 10,000 workers, with 69% of these finding new employment after the assistance period.
