€5.5 million from EU Globalisation Fund for former Nokia workers in Bochum

Brussels, 31/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 31 July, the European Commission approved an application by Germany under the Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help more than 1,300 workers made redundant by Finnish group Nokia at its factory in Bochum (North Rhine Westphalia, Germany) back into employment. The total estimated cost of this package is €11.1 million, with the European Globalisation adjustment Fund being asked to fund €5.5 million.
