Council requests “further economic assistance” to aquaculture

Luxembourg, 23/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 23 June, EU fisheries ministers called for a “more competitive” European aquaculture industry through further economic assistance. In its conclusions, the Council welcomed the European Commission's communication (dated 14 April) for giving a new boost to European aquaculture and approving the main objectives. The Commission and member states are invited to take measures against the transmission of fish diseases between member states....
