Brussels, 17/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to boost humanitarian funding to Pakistan from €7 million to €72 million to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population forced to move to other parts of the country. Some €20 million of this in cash will be provided immediately for emergency aid to cover basic needs.
The announcement was made by the European Commission at the first EU-Pakistan Summit in Brussels on Wednesday 17 June 2009.
