Brussels, 11/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 1 June 2009, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) will be five years old - and an evident success. At the end of 2008, over 180 million European citizens held an EHIC, i.e. 35.7% of the total population of the 31 countries where it has been introduced, namely the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
