11/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 11 May, the EU Council of Ministers adopted, without debate, a decision authorising the European Commission to begin negotiations with the Swiss Confederation on liberalisation of trade in processed agricultural products, with a view to full liberalisation of bilateral trade in the agri-food sector. The text was approved by COREPER, the committee of member states' permanent representatives to the EU, in April. (L.C./transl.rt)
