European Democratic Party puts forward choice of two successors to José Manuel Barroso

Brussels, 11/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - Meeting this weekend in Bilbao, the European Democratic Party, which includes, among others, the MoDem party of France's François Bayrou, the Margherita party of the Italian Francesco Rutelli and the MCC in Belgium, has put forward a choice of two candidates to take over from José Manuel Barroso. These are the former Belgian prime minister, Guy Verhofstadt, whose commitment to Europe is well known, and Italy's Mario Monti, former European Commissioner...
