Olli Rehn may recommend opening membership negotiations - Skopje hopes EU will help resolve name problem

Brussels, 23/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - If the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) meets the criteria set by the Commission in March 2008 (reform of the administration and of the judiciary, fight against crime and corruption, etc), the European Commission, in its next progress report due for October, should be able to recommend to the Council that membership talks be opened.
