23/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 22 April, in Strasbourg, the European Parliament approved a compromise on the proposal aimed at conserving halieutic resources through technical measures. The EP adopted without further amendment - with 581 votes in favour, 16 against and 32 abstentions - the report by Cornelis Visser (EPP-ED, NL) which amends the initial proposal on several points, including on the controversial one net rule (see details in EUROPE 9875).
