21/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Czech Republic is “definitively” withdrawing from the conference on racism, Durban II, in Geneva, “in response to the speech by Iranian President Ahmadinejad, in which he described Israel as a country with a racist government”, the Czech foreign minister announced in Prague on Monday. The Czech Republic, which currently holds the EU rotating presidency, was represented by its ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Tomas Husak. “Like our democratic partners, members and non-members of the EU, we cannot allow totally unacceptable anti-Israeli attacks to be endorsed by our presence”, the Ministry said.
