06/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) became operational as from 1 April. Its signal will remain in test mode until the end of the year when it is declared operational for all applications requiring certification. At the moment, the signal can be used for agriculture, rate calculations, cars and the maritime sector (EUROPE 9875). (A.By/transl.rh)
