Brussels, 24/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - Figures for January 2009 in the construction sector showed that production rose by 1.3% in the euro area and by 1.8% in the EU27, compared with the previous month. In December 2008, production fell by 2.8% and 1.8% respectively. Compared with January 2008, output in January 2009 dropped by 9.1% in the euro area and by 7.3% in the EU27.
