20/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on Thursday 19 February, the European Parliament adopted (by 616 votes to 18, with 24 abstentions) the report by Rosa Miguélez Ramos (PES, Spain) on applied research in the area of the common fisheries policy (CFP). The EP calls on the Commission to review the 7th framework programme for research, paying greater attention to the specific problems of fishing and aquaculture (for more specific information on the report, see EUROPE 9842).
