Brussels, 19/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to send pursue infringement procedures against Italy for not complying with EU legislation on urban waste water treatment (directive 91/271/EEC).
Italy will receive a final written warning (second stage in the procedure under Article 226 of the Treaty) for failing to put systems in place for adequately collecting and treating water in urban areas representing more than 15,000 inhabitants before 31 December 2000....
