Hans-Gert Pöttering heads Euro-Med Assembly fact-finding mission in Egypt, Gaza, Ramallah, Jordan and Israel

Brussels, 19/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - From 22 to 24 February, Hans-Gert Pöttering will be in Egypt, then in Gaza and then in Jordan and Israel. He will be on a double-hatted mission in his capacity as President of the European Parliament and as President of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA), an official press release states. The decision to organise the mission was taken by the EMPA office end January despite the general deadlock in all Euro-Mediterranean dialogue.
