02/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 2 February, a delegation of the European Commission began a week-long visit to Belgrade to assess Serbia's state of preparedness to be included on the list of countries with no visa requirements to enter the Schengen zone, the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister with responsibility for European affairs, Božidar Ðeliæ, announced on Sunday, according to the press agency Beta. The Commission experts are due to report back in May. Mr Ðeliæ also said that talks had been held with the Swedish Foreign Minister, Carl Bilt, who is believed to have promised to take concrete measures allowing Serbian citizens to enter the EU without the requirement for a visa once Sweden holds the rotating Presidency of the Union.
