EU to facilitate cross-border recovery of maintenance payments

Brussels, 22/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - European justice ministers are expected to reach an agreement, on Friday 24 October in Luxembourg, on a project to improve the cross-border recovery of maintenance payments when divorced or separated couples live in different member states. This adoption will be the main event of the low key Justice and Home Affairs Council, given the low level of legislative activity by the European Commission since the beginning of the year.
