Commission prepares future of GMES, renamed Kopernikus

Brussels, 16/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - Speaking at the opening of the GMES (Europe's Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) Forum on Tuesday 16 September, European Industry Commissioner Günter Verheugen announced that three studies were being launched to prepare the way for the funding of the programme after funding for its development expires in 2010.
