Commission opens seven infringement procedures in VAT, direct taxation and taxation of dividends

Brussels, 27/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - ON Thursday 26 June, the European Commission decided to move to the next stage with infringement procedures in the area of taxation.

VAT. Poland received a reasoned opinion calling on it to comply with European rules on value added tax (VAT) applicable to certain cross-border transport services. Similarly, the Netherlands which disproportionately exempts the provision of personnel in the education, socio-educational and health sectors from VAT. The...
