Tangier, 19/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On the sidelines of the second international conference for a territorial approach to development, a technical visit to the “Tangier MED” integrated project was organised for those taking part in the event. A port, commercial and industrial complex on the shores of the Straits of Gibraltar to the east of Tangier, this project aims to promote the region as an area for investment in an integrated regional development approach. Financed inter alia by Abu Dhabi funds and environmentally friendly, the project sees a deep change in the area around the strait and brings new structure to trade between Morocco and the rest of the world, said scientists and financial leaders.
On another subject, the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region (PACA) Michel Vauzelle and the president of the Tangier-Tétouan region Abdelhadi Benallal signed a new cooperation agreement between their two regions. (G.B.)
