EPP-ED and PES draw up profile of Franco Frattini's successor

Brussels, 18/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - The two main political groups at the European Parliament are insisting that the next European commissioner responsible for justice and home affairs (JHA) should be ready to closely cooperate with MEPs. This is a necessity in accordance with the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty, which provides for co-decision on such matters, the representatives of the EPP-ED and PES Groups point out.
