18/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - A new international film festival, BLIFF, organised by the newly formed Film Institute Banja Luka and Taskovski Films London, will take place in Banja Luka, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2-9 May 2008. Over 100 fiction and documentary films in seven categories will be screened over the course of the BLIFF. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: best full-length film, best documentary and best student short. There will also be live concerts, children's activities and other events throughout the week. This festival “will offer people throughout the region a chance to enjoy cinema in a way that has not been possible for the last 15 years. BLIFF's aims are promotion of human rights, peace and reconciliation between the peoples of Bosnia, and rejuvenation of the local film industry,” said Festival Director Irena Taskovski. (I.L.)
