08/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 7 April 2008, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate a decision allowing the use of €3.106 million in commitment and payment appropriations from the 2008 budget of the European Globalisation Fund. The monies will be used as follows: €681,207 for Malta following the loss of 675 jobs in two textile manufacturing companies and €2.425 mil for Portugal following jobs losses at three car manufacturing companies. The European Parliament's final vote on the decision will take place on Thursday 10 April. (L.C.)
