08/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 8 April, the European Commission cleared the proposed concentration whereby EADS Astrium SAS (“EADS Astrium”, France), belonging to the EADS group (“EADS”, France and Germany) and the undertakings Theodorus SCA (“Theodorus I”, Belgium) and Theodorus II SA (“Theodorus II”, Belgium), both controlled by the Université Libre de Bruxelles (“ULB”, Belgium) acquire joint control of Europe Heat Pipes (“EHP”, Belgium) by way of purchase of shares. The business activities of the undertakings concerned are: Theodorus I and II: investment funds controlled by ULB; - ULB: French university in Brussels operating scientific parks and an academic hospital; EADS: commercial and military sectors, civil and military helicopters, spacecrafts and electronic defence systems, as well as, through EADS Astrium, design, development and supply of space systems; and EHP: design, development, production and testing of thermal control systems used in spacecrafts and satellites.
