Peter Zangl is new ECHO Director General

Brussels, 11/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - Peter Zangl is to be the new director-general of the humanitarian aid department of the European Commission (ECHO), responsible for coordinating the EU's humanitarian action. He was appointed by the Commission on 11 March. Peter Zangl, who is of German nationality, is currently deputy director-general for the information society (DG INFSO), a post that he has held since 2001.
