85% of Europeans say regional policy priorities should be tackling climate change and helping poorest regions

Brussels, 07/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - Danuta Hübner, EU Regional Policy Commissioner, held a press conference in Brussels on Friday 7 March to explain the results of a Eurobarometer opinion poll on how Europeans view regional policy. The poll showed that the vast majority of European citizens support the way regional policy operates, believing it should support all regions in Europe and take on the big challenges of climate change, globalisation and demographic change.
