Parliament requests investigation into abuses in supermarket sector

Brussels, 19/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 18 February, the president of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, announced the official adoption of the written declaration requesting the European Commission to investigate abuses of dominant position committed in the supermarket sector (EUROPE 9522). The text has the strength of an EP resolution because it was signed by a majority of MEPs. On 19 February it was sent to the Commission and Council.
