Brussels, 10/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 10 December, the European Commission suggested that aid of €162.388 million be granted under the European Union Solidarity Fund to help deal with damage caused by flooding in June and July this year in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. The aid will be allocated to reimburse part of the cost of emergency measures, such as rescue services, cleaning up after flood damage and restoring basic infrastructure.
