10/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 7 December, the Commission cleared acquisition of joint control of Novara Assicura S.p.A. of Italy by Aviva Italia Holding S.p.A. (Aviva) of Italy and Banco Popolare, also of Italy. It also granted clearance to acquisition of the logistics services provider, Christian Salvesen PLC of the UK, by Groupe Norbert Dentressangle S.A. (GND) of France. Both operations were examined under simplified merger review procedure. (C.D.)
