Kimberley process strengthened - Fight launched against Côte d'Ivoire diamonds

Brussels, 09/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - Participants in the Kimberley Process meeting in Brussels for their annual conference on Thursday 8 November (see EUROPE 9535) decided to launch an initiative to address the issue of rough diamonds from Côte d'Ivoire, and to re-admit the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) to the Process, the international system set up in 21000 to prevent blood diamonds from entering international markets.
