GENERAL NEWS / (eu) ep/fisheries

11/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 11 October, the European Parliament approved the new, more complete draft regulation on gathering data needed for implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy. The new regulation is expected to enter into force in 2008. The report by Paulo Casaca (PES, Portugal) on the dossier was adopted by a very large majority (382 votes in favour, 11 against, with 5 abstentions). (lc)
