20/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 18 September, the EU Council of Ministers adopted, without debate, a regulation updating the conservation measures laid down by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). These measures will inter alia improve licensing requirements, protect the environment, enhance scientific research for Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus spp.) and combat illegal fishing activities.
