Brussels, 20/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - The final agenda of the European Parliament plenary session to be held from Monday 24 to Thursday 27 September has now been finalised. Some changes have been made since the provisional version that we presented earlier (see EUROPE 9504).
The following elements have been added to the agenda: - Tuesday 25 September: (9: 00) Council and Commission emergency call on regulation derogating from set-aside rules (see EUROPE 9503); (15: 00) Council declaration on implementation of the decision on the death penalty moratorium; Council and Commission declaration on Mercosur and Brazil (see EUROPE 9462, 9460); - Wednesday 26 September: Council and Commission declarations on ESDP operations in eastern Chad and the northern part of the Central African Republic. Initially foreseen for Wednesday 26 September, the debate on the report by Georg Jarzembowski on the development of Community railways was brought forward to Tuesday 25 September. The recommendation by Gianluca Susta on the protocol amending the agreement on the aspects of intellectual property rights affecting trade (TRIPS) has been withdrawn.
Added to the list of votes: - Tuesday 25 September: Nikolaos Sifunakis report on statistics on education and lifelong learning (debate on Monday 24 September cancelled); - Wednesday 26 September: Andrew Duff report on directive 93/109/EC on the right to vote and eligibility for the European elections for EU citizens resident in another member state.
Removed from the agenda: - Mantovani Report (lifelong learning) and also, at this stage, the following reports -Berès (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Committee); - Grossetête (medicines for human use); - Hegyi (voluntary spread of GMOs); - Scheele (genetically modified foods and feeds); - Cashman (movement of persons across borders); - Bradbourn (prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism); - and the draft resolution on international accounting standards.
