Poland vetoes European Anti-Death Penalty Day

Brussels, 18/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 18 September, Poland ended up using its right of veto to stop 10 October being declared 'European Anti-Death Penalty Day'. At a press conference, Portuguese Justice Minister Alberto Costa said that unfortunately he had been forced to note that it had not been not possible for all 27 EU member states to reach agreement.
