Czech Republic has not done enough to correct its excessive deficit - Hungarian measures felt to be satisfactory

Brussels, 10/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - As expected, under Article 104, paragraph 8, of the Treaty, the ECOFIN Council noted on Tuesday that the measures taken by the Czech Republic to correct its excess deficit are unsatisfactory and it will not be able to reduce its deficit to below 3% in 2008 as instructed by the ECOFIN Council in 2004.
