03/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 28 June, during the Environment Council, the EU Council formally adopted the proposal for a regulation harmonising rules on the law applicable to non-contractual obligations (Rome II). After four years of lively negotiations, the European Parliament and the Council meeting in Conciliation Committee finally reached a compromise in mid-May (EUROPE 9428). (bc)
