Agreement between Council and Parliament on third railway package - International passenger transport to be opened up from 2010

Brussels, 20/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - After the conciliation meeting held on 19 June, the European Parliament and the Council have managed to reach an agreement on the third railway package. After its adoption by the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER), which will theoretically take place this Wednesday, the agreement must also be confirmed by the Member States by an exchange of letters.
