France wants to extend quota system for imports of Chinese textiles, which expires at end of 2007

Brussels, 20/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - Somewhat reluctant to extend the current system of quotas on textile imports from China, which was brought in by the China-European agreement of 5 September 2005 (EUROPE 9025), Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson made a promise at the end of April that he would keep a very close eye on the development of Chinese textiles imports after the quota system expired.
