Brussels, 13/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, a WTO panel gave its verdict in the retreaded tyre dossier (Union complaint against Brazil, DS 332). It points out that Brasilia acted in a discriminatory way by using measures that banned the import of retreaded tyres (except those from Uruguay) onto its market. The panel said that these measures were incompatible with GATT rules of 1994 and found in favour of the Union with regard to its complaint lodged in 2005 at the WTO.
